Why did you decide to become a jewelry designer?

Designing jewelry has given me an opportunity to open up my artistic side. I was able to
expose an innate talent that had been overlooked while pursuing my corporate business
career. I love the feeling of creating something from nothing—the ability to implement
ideas that become a tangible piece. I feel a sense of accomplishment when I’m working
with my hands, both in creating and designing jewelry, as well as with other designing
I do such as embroidery and cross-stitching. Seeing the final design of what had been
just an image in my mind gives me a sense of joy and fulfillment that is unmatched.

What are you most passionate about when it comes to designing?

I love to constantly challenge myself to come up with new creations, different styles and
unique designs.payday loans I am passionate about constantly evolving and growing as a designer.

What are your favorite materials to work with?

Swarovski crystals, especially for the Leonardo Collection are my favorite. I also enjoy
working with organic, unusual-looking stones. They present both a design challenge
and chance to create one-of-kind pieces.

Can you tell us about the themes that run through your jewelry?

In the Leonardo Collection you can see/feel an architectural look, a very structured line.
In some of my work with semiprecious stones, there is a sense of the classics mixed or
juxtaposed with a bit of edge and trendiness, allowing the wearer to express her sense
of individuality.

What is your favorite design(s), and is this your best seller?

The Reflection necklace from the Leonardo Collection is one of my favorites, and this
is definitely one of my best sellers. Another best seller is the Tin Cup, which I have
designed with Swarovski Crystals: black, clear, turquoise, etc. Both pieces are popular
piece because of their versatility—they easily transition from day to evening.

What do you have planned for future collections?

I will continue to enhance the Leonardo Collection and venture into a line of affordably
priced contemporary style rings.

What is your favorite place to travel to, and has it inspired your designs in any

The frenetic pace, energy and eclectic mix of people and fashion in New York City
invigorates me and is a catalyst and inspiration for my designs.

Who are your fashion icons?

Nina Garcia: Fashion Director for Marie Claire magazine and author of several fashion-
related books.
Cate Blanchett: She has her own sense of style and individuality—classic yet
Michael Kors: I love the fact he designs “wearable” clothes that are affordably priced.

If you could have a super power to help you with your jewelry designing, what
would it be?

I would love to have the ability to develop new gemstone colors and shades.
